Christopher M. Bellitto, PhD, is professor of history at Kean University, Union, NJ, where he teaches courses in ancient and medieval history. He is also a frequent public speaker and media commentator on church history and contemporary Catholicism. He is the author of Renewing Christianity, The General Councils, Introducing Nicholas of Cusa, and 101 Questions & Answers on Popes and the Papacy (all published by Paulist Press).
